A True & Faithful Relation of What Passed for Many Years Between Dr. John Dee and Some Spirits
Meric Casaubon's edition of John Dee's record of his actions with spirits, from 1583 to 1589 and in 1607, with Casaubon's preface, Dee's apology of 1594/5 and the plates; London, 1659. In nineteen pages by the print's own divisions, with the print's page numbers as anchors.

A TRUE RELATION OF Dr. DEES Actions, with spirits.

Casaubon’s print of 1659, from the EEBO-TCP keyed text A37412, in nineteen pages by the print’s own divisions: the front matter, the plates, and the thirteen books and parts of the actions from 1583 to 1607. Each page carries the print’s page numbers in its margin as anchors, so that a passage can be cited and linked by page; the marginal notes of each division follow its text; the characters the transcribers could not read, and passages in other scripts, are marked where they stand. The two plates and the figure of the four Watchtowers are described by the transcribers and not keyed; the plates page shows them from the Getty scan.

Text Creation Partnership, EEBO-TCP A37412, released under CC0 1.0, pinned by its hash. The keyed text keeps the print’s spelling; the characters the transcribers could not read and the passages in other scripts are marked where they stand; the marginal notes follow each division as endnotes; the two plates, the Holy Table and the specimen of the Book of Enoch, are described by the transcribers and are not reproduced in the keyed text. The print’s page numbers stand in the margin as anchors, including the leaf the printer misnumbered after page 141 and the second sequence of numbers that begins in the Liber Resurrectionis.
